Is hotmail.com down right now?

According to our latest automated probe, hotmail.com is currently down. The server did not return a successful HTTP response. This could be a temporary outage, a server error, DNS failure, or an expired SSL certificate. Check the history graph above to see whether this is a new issue or a recurring pattern.

Our probe checks the domain from a single external server. If it shows as operational but you cannot connect, the issue is likely local to your network, ISP, browser, or DNS cache. Try these steps: (1) Hard-refresh your browser with Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R. (2) Clear your browser cache and cookies. (3) Disable any VPN or proxy you are using. (4) Flush your DNS cache — on Windows run ipconfig /flushdns, on macOS run sudo dscacheutil -flushcache. (5) Try a different network such as mobile data. (6) Try switching your DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

DownDetector.me runs an automated monitor every 5 minutes. Each check sends a direct HTTPS HEAD request from our server to hotmail.com, records the HTTP status code, the total response time in milliseconds, and whether the connection completed. Results are stored in a database and displayed on this page in real time.

No HTTP response was recorded — the connection timed out or failed before the server could respond. This typically means the server is offline, DNS is not resolving, or a firewall is blocking access.

Use the Discord webhook form above. Paste your server's webhook URL into the field and click Connect. You will receive an automatic notification in your Discord channel within 5 minutes of our monitor detecting a status change for hotmail.com. No account or sign-up is required.

Based on all checks recorded over the last 30 days, hotmail.com has been reachable 20.8% of the time. This indicates significant downtime. The service has experienced repeated failures.

Yes. DownDetector.me generates a live SVG badge for every monitored domain. The badge updates in real time to show green (Operational) or red (Down). Use the embed code shown above to add it to your GitHub README, project documentation, or internal dashboard. The badge URL is: https://downdetector.me/badge/hotmail.com.svg

No. DownDetector.me is a fully independent monitoring tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to hotmail.com or its operators in any way. We simply send a standard HTTPS request to the public domain to check if it is reachable — the same thing any visitor's browser does.
